Bandhas- Energy Locks


The classical texts on Yoga such as “Hatha Yoga Pradeepika” describe the importance bandhas in order to lock the pranas in particular areas and redirect the flow of pranic energy in the major energy channel Shusumna Nadi to activate the spiritual energy.

The practices of Pranayama and asanas incorporate the techniques of bandhas to achieve the safety through the contractions of the special group of muscles in the different parts of the body. These are useful in opening the knots while activating the Kundalini Shakti.
