Health is precious treasure of every individual looking at the harmony and happiness in the life. Physical health is necessary for wellbeing and the productivity.

Yoga is one of the richest heritages of India. It is both a philosophy as well as a practical science of healthy living. Traditional Schools of Yoga particularly Raja Yoga and Hatha Yoga provides the important techniques of yogic practices such as Asana, Pranayama, Mudra, Bandhas and Meditation techniques to achieve the good health.

In addition to the classical contributions, hectic research in yoga has proved that the principles and techniques of yoga synchronize the homeostatic efficacy on psycho-neuro-immuno-glandular mechanisms which ultimately helps to posses the positive physical and mental health.

Hatha yoga deals with the yogic practices for the purification of body and mind. The first lesson of  Hatha Yoga is the Asana. The practice of Asana brings sound health and lightness of the body.  Asana is the base for further practices of yoga. It is defined as a body posture, which is stable and comfortable according to sage  Patanjali. The perfection in the practice of Asana will help to overcome the dualities of mind and body.

Another Important practice of Yoga is the is the practice of  pranayama. There are different techniques in this section which are useful in the purification of energy channels.

The practices of pranayama are preceded with of Satkriyas; the six cleansing processes namely dhauti, basti, trataka, nauli and kapalabhati to remove the excess phlegm (Kapha) and fat (medas) from the body before the practice of pranayama.

Yoga Philosophy and practices are known to play a significant role in the promotion of health and prevention of diseases. Yoga principles and practices focus on the preventive, promotive and curative aspects of the Yoga as a natural health care measure to enjoy the good physical health.
